Addams publishes "Peace on Earth"
Description
In the essay "Peace on Earth," published in the Christmas edition of The Ladies' Home Journal, Addams writes about international arbitration and a world court as well as the monetary costs for the up-keep of armaments. Addams also addresses social and political reforms as well as the development of a new internationalism. In the following years, specifically after the outbreak of World War I, Addams will further develop these ideas in others essays, in several speeches, and in her international travels to conferences and governments to discuss these ideas.
